Holding a Fundraiser

Hosting an event is a great way to support the work we do everyday! To get started, make sure that you're really committed to putting the work in. Planning events can a great experience, but can be challenging at times.  Try finding an event that you may have an easier time planning.

Big or small, it all helps us. Running a national task force can be expensive at times so it's very important to us to be able to get help from communities across the United States. Anyone who takes the time to raise money for the task force is really appreciated.

Event Planning

When will your event be?

How long do you need to advertise the event?

Form a basic budget. Even though it's a charity event, very few events actually cost nothing to plan. Include your expenses and what you hope to raise from the event. Make sure that you can cover your expenses with the income from the event. Generally, you'll need liability insurance to host an event in a public place. Contact your insurance company or look into getting special event insurance for one day. Make sure to advertise for your event. Consider advertising for your event 3-5 months in advance. Design marketing materials such as flyers, posters, and signs! Contact your local public figures to help get the word out. This could include:

-Your local mayor

-Chamber of Commerce

-Local police/fire department

-Local school district

-Local city/town hall

-Local businesses and other organizations

-Local singers/performers

Event Expenses
If you must buy goods or services for the event:

  • Unfortunately, the task force cannot reimburse the event organizer for the purchase of goods for a third-party event.

  • The task force is NOT responsible for any insurance requirements or costs for the event

  • Directors of the task force cannot show up at every event, however we do try our best to make appearances at larger events that benefit the task force. Do to traveling and being very busy, it's rare for the executive directors to appear at events, but it does happen occasionally.

After the Event
The event organizers are responsible for the event and for everything that occurs at the event.

  • All donation checks must be made out to National Youth ISCB

  • Only checks payable to the task force and cash donations labeled with the donor’s information, will be provided with a tax deductible acknowledgement letter in accordance with the IRS.

Event Liability
The event organizers are responsible for obtaining all necessary permits and clearances required by local and state government. Event organizers are also responsible for ALL insurance requirements.
The task force reserves the right to not allow association with any person or organization and to revoke use of our name at any time.
