Bullying: Self Help

Reading and Writing

Reading: Sometimes, reading a book or magazine can really help you through the stress you have. Reading isn't for everyone, but for those who like to read, do it! Reading is also a great way to work through anxiety or a panic attack. It allows you to calm down and it allows you to take slower, deep breaths if you're struggling with anxiety.

Writing: Sometimes writing can be very useful, especially if you're experiencing bullying, suicidal thoughts, and/or PTSD. Writing allows you to express your feelings without having to talk about them or feel embarrassed, because it's just you and the paper.

Blogging: Like writing, blogging is used by thousands of teens and adults everyday. Many teens choose to blog to be able to share their feelings with each other. If you feel embarrassed, try writing blogs using an anonymous name.

Dance and

Gymnastics

Dance and gymnastics are great ways to relieve stress and it's also a great way to get out your anger. Dance allows you to focus on the routine and not worry about your stressful day. It's also a great way to express yourself and it's a great way to show your emotions if you're having a tough time doing it with words, which many teenagers do.

Gymnastics is also a great way to relieve anger and to show your emotions. It's also a way to exercise at the same time.

Dance and gymnastics also allows you to be part of a team, which may be very beneficial if you're struggling with any kind of bullying.

Music and Art

Music: Music is one of the best ways to show emotion if you're a teenager. You can learn to play an instrument, you can sing, or you can just listen to it on your phone! You can typically tell a lot about how a teen's feeling based off of their music playlist.

If you play an instrument or sing, use that to express how you are feeling if you're having trouble doing it with words.

Art: Drawing is another excellent way to calm down after an anxiety attack. It's also great if you feel lonely or like no one is paying attention to you. Many teenagers who are trying to get past self harm will draw when they feel the temptation.

Sports

Sports are often used as a coping method for teens getting bullied. Sports (even if you're bad at them) can be a great reliever of stress, because you're able to get up and out of your house, as well as hang out with family and/or friends.

Running, jogging, hiking, and walking are also common stress relievers. If you are feeling stressed or if you're getting bullied, after you take the correct steps to end the bullying, maybe you should go outside for some fresh air! It might help calm you down after a long day!
